Hwb Digital Learning Platform
Hwb and Hwb+ is part of the all Wales virtual digital learning platform and it was launched by the Welsh Assembly Government in December 2012.
Hwb hosts a national collection of digital resources to support learning and teaching for learners aged 3 to 19 and is known as the National Digital Content Repository. It also provides tools to help teachers and learners create and share their own resources, and to support collaboration across all schools in Wales.
Hwb+ is a bilingual development of the Learning Possibilities solution – LP+ 4. It has the capability to provide an individual and customisable learning platform for every school in Wales. Hwb+ is also able to integrate tools and content from third-party providers.
The use of the extensive toolsets offered through Hwb and Hwb+ assist schools in raising learner outcomes and all schools across Wales are now being encouraged to roll out the use of Hwb and Hwb+.
Since September 2015 Ysgol Dewi Sant has been one of the leading secondary schools in Pembrokeshire to roll out the use of Hwb+. Over the past year we have developed this and in particular its use as an effective administrative tool to improve communication across the school. Every student at Ysgol Dewi Sant has their own Hwb log in and an individual email account.
